When it’s Hard to Speak His Name

When it’s hard to speak His Name…

Have you ever heard the song, Great I Am?

We recently sang it at church and for the first time I almost felt a ‘hush’ come over me as if I couldn’t possibly speak such holy words…the Name of Almighty God!

But I know that I will be singing those words again. In fact, I will be singing words just like those forever. Forever…

The Great I AM…spoken of in the Scriptures…

And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” (Exodus 3:14)

Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you; before Abraham was, I AM.” (John 8:58)

I AMNow, the people who heard Jesus claim to have existed before Abraham were outraged! How could this man, living hundreds of years after Abraham, make this claim?

“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God…” (John 1:1)

What if we don’t have to understand Him completely?

What if just knowing Him, loving Him and sharing the truth about Him is enough…

Do you know Him? (A moving clip from Dr. S.M. Lockridge)

There are those who will scoff at the idea that there is a God who always was, always is and always will be. Our minds can’t grasp infinity.

Remember, the famous Buzz Lightyear was hard-wired with the phrase, “To infinity and beyond!” Every child in America can recite it.rTjGjbjxc

But what about eternity?

Are we hard-wired to understand eternity?

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.”(Ecclesiastes 3:10-11)

We may not be able to find out everything God does from beginning to end, but we can find out what He is doing right now.

Right now, He is changing hearts and minds. Right now, He is showing Himself through His beautiful creation. A single leaf holds intricacy that only a Master Designer could create. The tiny hands of our children, each with different prints, are miraculous! All formed by the Great I AM…

“Known to God from eternity are all His works.” (Act 15:18)

Truly, we are without excuse. We have no argument. He has made Himself known to each of us. Time and again He has knocked on our hearts, filled our minds, and adorned us with His presence.

Our response?

Either we have rejected or accepted.

There is no middle-of-the-road.

Wouldn’t it be a relief to finally accept? Stop fighting. Stop running. Just Stop?

The fear is, we will have to let go of some things. We may feel restricted and stifled.

And yet…

“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1)

It is for freedom He set us free!!!

Where the Spirit isDollarphotoclub_77938326

Dear one, are you living in freedom? Or does every day feel like a battle?

The Great I AM is offering you life. Life beyond this. Life for eternity with Him.

Will you turn to Him? Let go of the stuff that prevents you from living in complete and holy freedom?

It isn’t hard.

It’s as simple as a sincere, heart-of hearts prayer.

“Almighty God, Maker of heaven and earth, I need a Savior. I am a sinner in need of saving. I believe that Your Son, Jesus Christ, is the Way, the Truth and the Life. I believe that You sent Him to die for my sins and the sins of the whole world. Please forgive me. I look to You, Risen Lord. I believe in You with all my heart, mind, soul and strength. In Jesus’ Name.”

The Bible says that when we confess with our mouth and believe in our hearts, we are saved. (Romans 10:9)

If you prayed for salvation, asking Jesus to be Lord of your life, take the next step and find a solid, Bible-teaching, doctrinally sound church. Ask to be baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. By doing this, you are professing your faith and following in obedience.

This may help!

If you made this decision, I would love to hear about it. Please send me an email so I can rejoice with you and encourage you on the most magnificent journey you’ll ever take! (encouragementmama@gmail.com)

Praising the Great I AM forever, even when it’s hard to speak His Name…
