How to KNOW it’s Going to be OK

thoughtful girl with a pen and questionable gesture

In all the years I’ve mentored women, the one thing that comes up most frequently is, “How can I know it’s going to be ok?”

My heart always moves with a leap of compassion when I hear their tone of worry and see the desperation in their eyes. I want to say, “Of course everything will be ok!”

But the truth is, I don’t know exactly what this life holds. I don’t know what turns it will take. I don’t know that the right here and now is going to be ok.

But what if I were to tell you that I am 100% positive there will be a day when it will be ok? There will be an end to sickness, poverty, and pain. Would you believe me?

Don’t take my word for it.

My word isn’t what matters. What matters is the truth itself. Truth happens whether we believe it or not.

There is an assurance of one thing and one thing only. Jesus Christ and His return. It’s not a belief or a religion or a fable or a legend. It is the reality of the Great I AM returning for His own.

I could live a hundred years and go through every trial imaginable. But at the moment I take my last breath, I will face eternity. That is when certainty will matter most.bridge-386261_640

We can be uncertain about this time and place, but we absolutely must be confident about the next.

Still not convinced?

Author of the book Assured of Heaven, Bob Ricker says this:

This life is a comparatively brief and temporary experience and after it, we face eternity in one of two destinations: a place wonderful beyond description or a place terrible beyond description. My dad, as he was growing older, often said, “It is better on ahead.” That is now part of his experience. As good as this life can be, the next one is infinitely better for those who know Christ in a personal way. Heaven is our greatest hope. Everyone thinks about the next life though many won’t admit it. The Bible tells us that God has placed eternity in our hearts. It is gracious of Him to do this and it is extremely serious for anyone to ignore it. (Download his book here).

And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.(Romans 13:11-12)sunrise-795311_640

Dear one, the night is nearly over. The day is at hand. This is the day of salvation. Do not delay your decision about Jesus. Remember, our belief doesn’t make it so. The truth makes it so.

How can we KNOW that it’s going to be ok?

There is no greater assurance or peace like the peace we know when we embrace Jesus as the Savior of our hearts, minds, and souls. His blood poured out on that cross nailed assurance to our hearts forever. And His resurrection removed the stone blocking the way.

Empty tomb with three crosses on a hill side.

Do you know it’s going to be ok? It is my friend. It certainly is.

Nicely done. I appreciated your comment that that is when certainly will matter most. My heart grieves for so many who do not understand that. I often ask people — How can there be more than one truth? One must be truth and the another…….
