Of all the things we fret over, there is one thing that we should never, ever worry about.
It has no name, no reason, and no existence.
Huh? (stay with me)
“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow. It empties today of its strength.”
If we could add up all the minutes we’ve spent worrying, I’m afraid those minutes would circle the earth. (twice)
“See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these…” (Matthew 6:28-29)
These verses inspire such a simple, yet glorious vision of how the Lord cares for that which He has created.
Brings out the poet in me…
The lilies of the field look up in the morning
To the Maker of the world
They seek His face
They don’t know that they ought to worry
That this old world can be a cold, dark place
They just know that He meets their needs
And they know He makes them shine
So when evening comes around,
They look to Him and smile…
One thing we should never, ever worry about…uh, what was it?
